2010 Big Dawg Series Qualifier

The two qualifying tournaments pit up to 50 skiers in heart-pounding, head-to-head competition, all competing for a cash prize and a chance to advance to the finals in September 2010. The cash and contingencies purse are over $20,000 and the top competitor will claim the Ski Nautique Big Dawg title.

Entry information:

Skiers 35 and older who have not placed in the top 10 in a Pro Slalom Tournament in the past 3 years or any skier over the age of 50. All skiers meeting the eligibility criteria above, and submit to the tournament registrar an (a) entry form, (b) proof of membership in USA Water Ski and©advertised entry fee. Entries are limited to 50, and will be accepted on a first come, first-serve basis.

Big Dawg Qualifier – Laku Information

The next Big Dawg competition at Laku will feature Big Dawg skiers on Lake 1 in addition to a class C slalom event for local Colorado Skiers and Big Dawg contestant family members on Lake 2.

Laku is planning a BBQ dinner and musical entertainment on site Saturday evening…BBQ Ribs and Chicken…a fun event you won’t want to miss.

For those traveling we have a group rate at Embassy Suites in Loveland which is 6 miles from the site. This is a new hotel with 2 room suites and complimentary cooked to order breakfast. Room rates are $139 for a standard suite and $159 for a Mountain View suite. (Single or double occupancy). Phone number is (970) 593-6200 and mention “Big Dawg Qualifier”. There are several events in the area that weekend so make your reservations early.

You can register online on the USA Water Ski Online Registration system and search for events in Colorado.

To Google Directions search for 31591 Weld County Road 17 or Lakulake Rd in Windsor, CO 80550. We are located just over an hour from Denver International Airport (or just 15 minutes from the Ft. Collins/Loveland Airport). Additional hotels, shopping and other services within 15 minutes of the site.

About Laku Landing

Laku Landing is a competition water ski site located in Windsor, Colorado, near Fort Collins. Laku consists of two lakes, the first completed in 1991, the second in 1994. The property is run by the Laku Tournament Water Ski Association (LTWSA), and is the host of several sanctioned tournaments a year.

How to qualify for Finals:

The sweet 16 from any SNBD Qualifier are automatically invited to the Finals. The balance of skiers will be invited based on placement at SNBDQ’s(Maximum of 50 skiers at Finals).
